The Great Mahakala

Who we are

The Great Mahakala is a tax exempt, non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Florida and registered under the United States Internal Revenue Code Statute 501(c)3.

Our mission is to spread compassion and heal the community by sponsoring and presenting uplifting spiritual and cultural events. We maintain a Retreat House in Miami, Florida which is available for groups and individuals to come and practice. We provide support for different spiritual masters and their organizations in India, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. The organization takes its name from the Buddhist protector deity. And to this effect, the Great Mahakala aims to preserve, protect and make available, the wisdom of traditional peoples, their inherent spirituality, the enlightened tradition and its inspiring world view.

The Great Mahakala’s events and programs put forth the simple truth that happiness comes from within and that it is our birthright.

During the last 20+ years, the Great Mahakala has produced well over a hundred events in South Florida, New York and Arizona.
